Sony announced a few days ago that it will launch the PS5 exclusive game accessory Project Q handheld at the end of the year. A video on the Internet shows the Project Q real machine operation screen, and confirms that the handheld may use the Android operating system.
According to the Twitter account @Zuby_Tech uploaded the screen of operating the Project Q engineering test machine, the real machine is like a DualSense wireless controller with a screen sandwiched in the middle. Interestingly, according to the content of the video, you can see a variety of built-in apps in Project Q. The currently installed programs are suspected to be used for testing, but they also support functions such as files, pictures, and videos, and the “three buttons” on the right side of the screen prove that the operating system is very likely to be Android.
In addition, a “QC test” application can be found from the built-in App, pointing to the fact that Project Q is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, which means that the performance will not be as powerful as ROG Alley and other handhelds using AMD Ryzen Z1 chips, mainly relying on network streaming and PS5 connection to play.
According to Sony’s official statement, Project Q uses an 8-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution and supports the functions of the DualSense wireless controller. The price has not been disclosed, but Microsoft has revealed that the price of Project Q will be less than $300 (about 9,300 yuan) in the review document submitted to the FTC.
