Sony quietly closed a studio located in San Diego, which helped first-party teams prepare the biggest AAA games for PS4 and PS5.

For several years, there has been a Sony studio in San Diego, where developers support other first-party teams of the Japanese company. According to job offers, the developers spent the most time working with the Naughty Dog team, which is responsible for the Uncharted series and The Last of Us.
As we can read in the PushSquare portal entry, this month they said goodbye to work, among others Quentin Cobb, one of the biggest names in Sony San Diego, and also John Bautista who were among the first to join the team. Some job offers in the aforementioned team are still hanging on the web, but they will probably disappear in days.

What’s most interesting, however, the studio has never been officially confirmed by the Japanese, so we have never officially heard what exactly the local developers are working on. It is also synonymous with the fact that Sony will not indicate in any announcement that the San Diego branch has been closed.
