One last look before the release
After Microsoft (under pressure) revealed the release date and price of the new Xbox systems, all eyes are now on PlayStation. Now Sony is announcing that they will hold a live show on Wednesday with more info about PlayStation 5 games and – almost certainly – a release date and price.
For a long time, it seemed like no release date and price would ever be revealed for the next-gen consoles. Sony waited for Microsoft to take the first step, and Microsoft waited for Sony. At least, until a leaker de price and release date of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series X.
So now the ball is in Sony’s court and they understand that. “Before the PlayStation 5 launches this year-end period, we would like to give you one more look at some of the great games that will come with the PS5 release (and afterwards),” they write in a blog post. The pre-recorded show will again run for about 40 minutes and will be broadcast live on Twitch and YouTube Wednesday September 16 at 10:00 PM.
So it is not directly confirmed that a release date and price will be part of the presentation, but since it appears that this will be the last presentation between now and the release, confirmation of the price and release date (and the start of pre-orders ) almost inevitable.
