People who get help from the Social Security Administration (SSA) Supplemental Security Income program will receive a second payment in June. This payment will be in 16 days and can be up to $914 for individual taxpayers.

The money will be given on Friday, June 30, and it will be the second of two payments that are given in that month. The first payment was already sent on June 1st.

The reason there are two payments in June is because of the way the SSA organizes its calendar. When the first payment that would normally be made in the following month falls on a weekend, then two payments are made in that month.

The second payment that is given in June is replacing the one that would normally be given in July. This is because July 1 falls on a Saturday this year and so they moved the payment to earlier, which ended up being in June.

There is some variation in the amount of money beneficiaries receive depending on whether they file an individual tax return, a joint return, or as an essential person.

Beneficiaries who file an individual tax return receive $914 each monthcouples filing jointly receive $1,371, and essential individuals, who are those who live with and provide necessary care for SSI recipients, receive a monthly payment of $458.

SSI payments are given in addition to regular Social Security benefits given to retirees. They give money each month to adults and children who are visually impaired or otherwise disabled, and who have limited income.

To qualify for SSI, a person must be over age 65, be at least partially blind, or have physical or mental conditions that seriously limit daily activities for a period of 12 months or more, or are thought to cause the person dies.

The schedule is arranged in such a way that people receive 12 payments in a year. Sometimes they receive two payments in a month and in other months they receive none, but in the end there are always 12 in total for the year.

This year, in four months people will receive two payments in the same month: March, June, September and December.

This happens because in April, July and October, the first day of the month is Saturday or Sunday, and January 1 is always a holiday, so payments cannot be made on those days. Then, they advance them and they are given in the aforementioned months.
