Soccer – Potsdam – Rudolph leaves the women’s Bundesliga team Turbine Potsdam – Sport

Potsdam (AP) – Women’s Bundesliga team Turbine Potsdam and head coach Matthias Rudolph will go their separate ways at the end of the season. The club announced on Wednesday. As the “Sportbuzzer” reports, the separation of Rudolph goes out, who will not extend his expiring contract. Club President Rolf Kutzmutz told the Internet portal: “We said from the start that we would first make an offer to our current head coach.”

37-year-old Rudolph is a full-time teacher at a Potsdam grammar school. For this reason, he is not available for full employment. However, the club’s board had decided to start the next season with a full-time coach in order to meet the increasing demands in the field of girls’ and women’s football.

Former professional Rudolph, who played for SV Babelsberg 03 and KSV Hessen Kassel, among others, took over as coach for the 2015 season from the Potsdam coaching legend Bernd Schröder. During his tenure, Turbine was twice third and once fourth in the Bundesliga.

With the departure of the trainer, the rebuilding at Turbine is progressing. In addition to the head coach, the top performers Sarah Zadrazil (Bayern Munich), Lara Prasnikar (is associated with Frankfurt) and Caroline Siems will also leave the club at the end of the season. Selina Cerci (Werder Bremen), Lene Uebach and Merle Barth (both Leverkusen) have already been confirmed as newcomers.
