Soccer – Freiburg im Breisgau – Freiburg and Frankfurt complete women’s cup semifinals – sport

Freiburg (AP) – The soccer women of SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt complete the semi-finals of the DFB Cup. The Breisgauerinnen prevailed 6: 3 (2: 1) against Turbine Potsdam on Sunday. Frankfurt lived up to its favorite role against second division team SG Andernach at 7-1 (2-1) away, especially after the break.

The sports club turned the game around after a 0-1 deficit and after just under an hour made an early decision with a converted penalty from Stefanie Sanders to make it 4-1. Potsdam didn’t give up, but couldn’t get anywhere.

Andernach bravely fought against the Frankfurt women for long stretches, but in the end it was the individual quality of Géraldine Reuteler and Barbara Dunst that made the difference. Reuteler hit twice, Dunst even three times. The other goals were scored by Laura Freilang and Sandrine Mauron.

The day before, defending champion VfL Wolfsburg had won 7-0 against Bundesliga rivals SV Werder Bremen. FC Bayern Munich won 2-1 at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Friday. In the semifinals that have already been drawn, the Wolfsburg women will meet Bavaria, in the other duel, Eintracht will receive SC Freiburg. The games will be played on April 3rd and 4th.
