Frankfurt / Main (AP) – The German national women’s soccer team will play the last international match of the season on June 15 in Offenbach. The German Football Association (DFB) announced the venue for the game against Chile on Friday. The game will kick off at 3 p.m. and will be broadcast by ZDF. The team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg will play against France in Strasbourg on June 10th (9.10pm / “sportschau.de”). A trip to the USA with games against the world champions was originally planned for the end of the season. However, this was canceled weeks ago due to the unsafe corona situation.
While the season is over for the German players afterwards, the Chileans will be taking part in the Olympic soccer tournament. There they meet Great Britain, Canada and Japan. The DFB team, the 2016 Olympic champion, missed qualifying for Tokyo due to the quarter-finals at the 2019 World Cup against Sweden.
