Soccer – Berlin – Start of training: Viktoria tests against Rostock and Hanover – Sport

Berlin (AP) – Newcomer Viktoria 89 is playing two test matches against second division teams in preparation for his first season in the 3rd soccer league. The team of coach Benedetto Muzzicato will play against Hannover 96 on June 30th (5pm), a week later against the second division newcomer Hansa Rostock. It is not yet clear where the game will be played.

This week the players will complete their performance diagnostics in the Charité, on Friday the first training will take place on the new training ground on Wildspitzweg in Mariendorf. The current squad is under observation and can present themselves for use in the higher class.

Sports director Rocco Teichmann is still looking for reinforcements. On the one hand, the 35-year-old wants a U23 goalkeeper to compete with regular goalkeeper Philip Sprint, and on the other hand, other players should reinforce the offensive. Lukas Pinkert is scheduled for the defense. The 21-year-old defender from the second team of Hamburger SV will come as soon as Viktoria receives the license for the third division.

After the Senate Department for Home Affairs and Sport has made the Jahnstadion Viktoria and the American footballers from Berlin Thunder available, the German Football Association will inspect the situation on Friday. On the basis of preliminary discussions with those responsible at the DFB, Viktoria managing director Peer Jäkel sees no hurdle for licensing.
