SMP: 22 boxes full of pyrotechnics that were offered on Facebook seized

In non-optimal conditions and without any security measures, 22 boxes full of pyrotechnics were found in a house in San Martin de Porres.

The North 1 Police Division and the Sol de Oro police station carried out the operation after learning that the products were offered through Facebook.

This is how they raided a property in the Montecarlo Housing Association. On the second level they found the boxes and their owner José Contreras (28), who was intervened.

Among the seized were counted 1,400 lights, 3,150 whistles, 480 missiles, 5,400 little sheep, 1,440 light shots, 864 hurricanes, in addition to other explosives.

The intervened did not have the permission of the district municipality or the National Superintendency of Control of Security Services, Arms, Ammunition and Explosives for Civil Use (Sucamec).

Colonel Jorge Luis Castillo Vargas, head of the North 1 Police Division, assured RTV that the merchandise would be valued at more than S / 10,000 and it is not ruled out that it has more places where it collects boxes with similar content.

Contreras was taken to the Sol de Oro police station to be investigated for the crime of common danger, because the storage of the pyrotechnics could have generated an explosion and released toxic gases, which are harmful to human health. Meanwhile, the seized merchandise will be placed in the warehouse of Sucamec.

Colonel Castillo recommended to the public to buy pyrotechnic in authorized places and those that are allowed to be commercialized, in order not to endanger their lives or that of their families.
