New Samsung from the Galaxy series, which will appear in 2021, will no longer support older manufacturer’s smartwatches. And it’s not about watches that appeared a year or two ago, but really old models. At least in the world of electronics, where all kinds of novelties cease to be them very quickly.
New Samsung and no support for smartwatches

We seem to be used to how easy it is to replace electronics with new ones. This is especially noticeable in the case of smartphones, when you can do it every year or two. Whenever there is a new contract with the operator or just a bargain in the store. Buying a new phone is easy, and so are wearable devices. New smartwatches appear every few months, and it’s the same with sports bands. Here it would seem that their life cycle may be longer, but this is only an illusion. Older generations of smartwatches are forgotten as quickly as smartphones, but not faster.
The new Samsung phones that will appear in 2021 will no longer support older smartwatches. We are talking about models: Samsung Galaxy Gear, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, Gear S oraz opasce Gear Fit. Today, probably hardly anyone uses them yet, but contrary to appearances, they are not that old equipment. We are finally talking about the devices they have here 6-7 years “on my back”. And although in the case of electronics it can be a lot, one would like smart watches to “live” a little longer than a few years. The good news is that using a Samsung smartphone that has been manufactured until 2021 will not affect your ability to use the watches.

Consumer electronics fans may notice in a few years that their drawers are full of watches and bands, with which nothing can be done. Today you can buy a relatively new smartwatch for PLN 300-400, and a wristband for less than PLN 100.
