Smart watches Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Watch Active2 can now record an electrocardiogram

We hope and even believe that most of our readers do not suffer from health problems. But as the body ages, it is better to be more attentive to your health, which gadgets in the form of smart watches and fitness bracelets can now help. Moreover, wearable electronics are gaining the status of medical devices even among regulatory authorities, and this is a completely different level of assessment of the state of the body. And now you can make this assessment yourself.

As the fresh Press release from Samsung, from today, US citizens can install an application on their smartphones to take an electrocardiogram using a smart watch Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Watch Active2. Once installed, the function will be available through the Samsung Health Monitor app on your smartphone as the ECG Monitor app.

The electrocardiogram is taken by pressing one button in the position of the hands, as shown in the photo above. It is important to keep the finger of one hand on the top button on the watch, while the strap should firmly press the watch with the sensor to the other hand.

In this position, the watch detects one possible deviation in the wearer’s heart rate – atrial fibrillation (AFib) or atrial fibrillation… It is the most common heart disease and is best dealt with in the early stages of the disease.

An electrocardiogram taken by a watch is recognized by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a medical indicator used to diagnose a disease. However, the final diagnosis will still be made by the attending physician. Another thing is that self-diagnosis will allow you to identify problems in the early stages without regular visits to doctors, saving money and time.
