Samsung Galaxy S22: the whole range will be reduced intergenerationally

According to Mauri QHD, Samsung is preparing three smartphones again, so it can be assumed that they will be direct successors to the models Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra. The surprising information is that in all three variants there should be an intergenerational reduction of the display, namely:

  • for the basic Galaxy S22 model from 6.2 “to 6.06”
  • for the middle Galaxy S22 + from 6.7 “to 6.55”
  • for the largest Galaxy S22 Ultra from 6.9 “to 6.81”

It almost looks as if Samsung’s developers knew about the upcoming iPhone 12 mini and were trying to at least partially reduce their flagship portfolio. If only they had anticipated that this compact iPhone was not such a big hit. Fortunately, Samsung is shrinking with reason, so it could meet with positive feedback; after all, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is a really huge and heavy phone.

Unfortunately, it will be the Ultra, which is the only one in the series to experience an LPTO display with a variable refresh rate, smaller variants will have to make do with the classic AMOLED.

Switching to 4 nanometers?

Again, both the Exynos themselves and competing Snapdragons will be used, and in both cases there will be an intergenerational jump from 5nm of the production process to 4nm. So, at least on paper, because technically it is supposed to be the 3rd generation 5nm process, Samsung has decided that the increase in efficiency will be comparable to the actual transition to a 4nm process.
