“Small step, big meaning”: Queen Elizabeth does not go to church for the first time in years | Royalty

According to British royalty journalist Angela Levin, skipping church may seem like a small step, but it’s a big one for the Queen. “She is very religious and it is very important to her personally to go to church every Sunday,” Levin told The Sun. Instead, the Queen likely received a priest at Windsor Castle to allow the service to continue.

Elizabeth, 95, canceled a visit to Northern Ireland at the last minute last week because she had to take some rest. It later became clear that Elizabeth had been in the hospital for a day. The hospitalization was for “preliminary examination”. The palace has not disclosed what complaints the queen has. Buckingham Palace only said that the queen is doing well and that she is now back to “light duties”. There are no obligations in her public agenda for the coming week and it is “unlikely” that the Queen would appear in public, according to The Sun.

In recent days, it has been announced that Elizabeth has to stop drinking alcohol on doctor’s advice. She had to cut her bedtime cocktail, usually a Martini, from her schedule. She was also just spotted with a walking stick for the first time in seventeen years and it became known that the Queen will always be assisted by a family member during official obligations.
