Twenty-five-year-old Vlhová was enough for today’s triumph and the first for Slovakia in the overall evaluation of the series today’s sixth place. Before Sunday’s giant slalom, the final race of the season, he has a lead of 136 points over the Swiss Lara Gutová-Behrami, who did not enter the slalom after the cancellation of the downhill and the super-G.

“It means a lot to me. I’m writing history,” said Vlhová, who didn’t rejoice and absorbed emotions after the slalom. “I can’t believe it. I’m a little disappointed that I lost a small globe to the slalom, but the big one was the main goal. It was a very challenging season, I left everything and now I’m going to enjoy it.”

Dubovská was the first Czech to go slalom in the World Championships after four years and followed in the footsteps of Šárka Strachová “It is a satisfaction that we have finally worked our way here after so many years, so it is great,” said Dubovská before the start, who suffered from a sore back in the winter and her mother died in a car accident in February.

In the final slalom she was ninth after the first round and defended in the second position. Ninth place is the second best result of the season and career for the native of Třinec. She drove best fourteen days ago in Jasná, where she finished eighth. “I am glad that I scored another ten in the last race,” she said in a press release.

After the finish of the second race, she did not lead narrowly. “I was a little sorry that I wasn’t in the green numbers. I really wanted that, because my mother always told me that she finally wanted to see green numbers in the finish line,” Dubovská said, adding: “I can start risking more and more to it was still at its peak. I also have reserves there. “

Overall, she is tenth in the slalom and has significantly improved her maximum, 32nd place from last season. “It is unbelievable that after the season I am among the ten best slalom skiers in the world. I appreciate it very much and I am very happy that I have worked my way into this company after so many years of efforts,” said Dubovská.

This year’s world champion Liensberger dominated the last two slaloms of the season. In the fight for the small globe, she surpassed the American Mikael Shiffrin by 35 points and won the triumph for Austria in the “most spinning” discipline after nine years.
