“I am going to the Slavianski Bazaar. Yes, to Vitebsk, yes, to Belarus. I was honored to open the festival as a host together with colleagues from Russia and Belarus,” Panchenko wrote.
She added that art and music should remain out of politics and said she was aware of the rejection of some of her colleagues.
“I am sure that art and music should remain outside politics. I know that some colleagues and artists refused to travel. Although for 30 years Ukraine took part in the festival, won, shone. Yes, the political situation has changed. But people have remained the same. We are going to the people. I do not live in Belarus and I think that I have no right to assess the events in this country. But I am sure that the aggravation of relations will not benefit either us or the Belarusians, “the TV presenter added.
Who is Diana Panchenko
Diana Panchenko is a Ukrainian journalist and TV presenter. Until recently, she worked for Medvedchuk’s NewsOne TV channel, and then went to work for the First Independent.
She was born in 1988 in Kiev, graduated from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, and then from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev. The first specialty is publishing and editing, the second is jurisprudence.
From 2010 to 2015 she worked at the Kiev shopping and entertainment complex, in 2015 she switched to the NewsOne TV channel. During the broadcasts on the TV channel, she became famous for expelling politicians from the studio. In 2018, she had a live fight with Larisa Nitsa, who asked her to speak Ukrainian. The presenter replied that Nitsoy could not tell her which language to speak.
In 2020, she was included in the rating of the most influential women in Ukraine by the Focus magazine, while in Detector Media Panchenko was called the “worst media man of 2020” in the same year.
It should be noted that Tina Karol, Oleg Vinnik, Elina Ivashchenko, MARUV, hosts Timur Miroshnichenko and Andrey Domansky refused to participate in the Slavianski Bazaar.
Who from Ukraine will visit the Slavianski Bazaar
Taisiya Povaliy promised to come to the festival in Vitebsk. Renata Stiefel will represent Ukraine in the competition for young performers – she appeared at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008.
The organizers also named another presenter – Oksana Antonyuk. However, she comments for “Media Detector“she said that she had not received an official invitation, but she communicated with the organizers. Antonyuk answered evasively about her trip to Belarus.
