Six out of ten people want to spend their pension in a cottage. But they lack the internet and cultural activities Points of Interest

The urban environment is preferred by 22 percent of people for their autumn of life. This follows from a survey by Poštovní spořitelna among 500 respondents.

About a third of people have bought a holiday home so far. Chalets and cottages predominate, to a lesser extent, for example, mobile homes, caravans or houseboats. Recently, the demand for loans and financing of holiday housing has also increased.

“Every other participant in the survey owns a cottage or chalet. The popularity of recreational facilities is most noticeable among the inhabitants of the capital. They typically visit them on weekends, mainly due to nature, a quieter environment and leisure activities, “said Přemysl Hanzelka, director of Poštovní spořitelna.

Every working week, more than half of Czechs regularly go to holiday homes, and 22 percent of people go there several times a year. Seven percent of respondents also have a recreational facility as a place for their summer vacation. And a relatively large group stays in the cottage or cottage all year round. “12 percent of respondents use recreational facilities for everyday life, because they said that they visit it every day. These are mainly people in old age or retirement age, “added Hanzelka.

Above all, a quarter of people spend time in a cottage or cottage, and half say that they work evenly and rest. One-fifth of respondents claim that their stay in a recreational facility is mostly filled with cleaning, gardening and minor repairs. Half of the recreational facilities have an internet connection, which nine out of ten people also use to solve financial matters via internet or mobile banking.
