The Russians will level the Luhansk region with the ground for the next five days

The Ukrainian military cleared half of Severodonetsk and are moving forward, the head of the Luhansk OVA said.

The Russian military is demoralized by the fact that they cannot capture Severodonetsk within 102 days. This was announced by the head of the Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai.

“Our defenders control half of the city and have already cleared it. We are moving on,” Gaidai said.

According to him, the commander of the Russian army received two tasks – to capture Severodonetsk and the Lisichansk-Bakhmut highway by June 10.

“In the near future, the number of attacks from Russia will be increased, they will hit with artillery. They will try to raze the Luhansk region to the ground. They have no other tactics,” Gaidai said.

He added that evacuation from Severodonetsk is not yet possible: about 15,000 people remain in the city. And on June 5, 98 people were rescued from Lisichansk.

Earlier today, Gaidai reported that Armed Forces of Ukraine are able to recapture Severodonetskbut strategically the city is not of great importance.

Recall that British intelligence appreciated the counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Severodonetsk. It is said that the operational momentum that Russian forces had previously gained through the concentration of combat units and firepower has been nullified.
