Six individuals, including a repeat offender, were arrested on Sunday evening by elements of the judicial police of the district of Hay Hassani in Casablanca, on the basis of precise information provided by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST ), on suspicion of involvement in a case of drug trafficking and psychotropic drugs, but also of kidnapping and forcible confinement.
A press release from the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) specifies that, according to the first elements of the investigation, the victim interceded in favor of the defendants for the acquisition of cocaine in Safi, before the latter discovered only ” they were the subject of a scam and the cargo purchased was only white powder, which led them to kidnap the victim and to beat him and injure him in a house, located in an area before Safi before transporting it to Casablanca.
All these crimes were filmed and sent to a family member for blackmail, adds the DGSN, noting that the investigations on the ground, carried out by the judicial police, made it possible to locate the four suspects and to apprehend them in an apartment in the Bourgogne district in Casablanca as well as releasing the injured victim, the same source said, announcing that the search operations resulted in the seizure of almost a kilogram of white powder, suspected of being cocaine, in addition to knives and three cars used in this criminal act.
The defendants, aged between 22 and 43, as well as the victim and his brother (suspected of being involved in fraud and mediation cases), were placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation carried out by the competent public prosecutor’s office while searches continue to identify the people involved in this criminal act.
