British singer and actress Marianne Faithfull has contracted the corona virus. The 73-year-old is being treated for lung disease in a London hospital, music industry service Republic Media wrote on Twitter, citing Faithfull’s manager Francois Ravard. Her condition is stable and she responds to the treatment.

Faithfull was one of the most famous singers of the 60s – not least because of her relationship with Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones, who together with his guitarist Keith Richards wrote the first hit for the then 17-year-old: “As Tears Go By”.

Faithfull also had success later, among others in 1979 with the album “Broken English”. She once left her past as drug addicts and depressed behind, she said in an interview.
