The head of Győr admitted that Fradi deservedly won.
– We led twice in the first half with four goals, but unfortunately in the moments before the break, Ferencváros equalized. From this, he armed himself with confidence and got wings for the second half. And we couldn’t find our own game. In particular, our offensive play stalled, on the one hand we could not work out opportunities, but when we succeeded, we made a lot of mistakes against the goalkeeper. Ferencváros deservedly won because it played better than us in the second half – Ambros Martín told our newspaper after the 26-22 Ferencváros victory in the women’s handball Hungarian Cup final. The Spanish coach almost fought in the FTC-Győr match played on Thursday with Gábor Elek, the specialist in charge of Ferencváros, with whom he had previously worked as a co-federal captain at the head of the women’s handball team.
We also asked if there were any tactical weapons with which Ferencváros surprised Győr. Martín answered in the unequivocal no, noting the name of the 17-year-old director of the FTC.
– The Fradi didn’t surprise us, we were expecting their offensive play and we got pretty much what we were prepared for in the defense. The little young Simon Petra was never known before, he was surprised by his brave, proactive and successful play Said the ETO coach.
Martín made it clear that he had settled his relationship with Gábor Elek, with whom he still had a disagreement in the April league match.
