The director of the Center for the Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies of the Ministry of Health Fernando Simon has alerted this Thursday of “worrying signs of increase of the contagions in some autonomous communities ”. Though has not cited any in particular, the 14-day incidence has started to rise from an already high level in Madrid (225 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), Basque Country (177) and Catalonia (172). It has also increased, albeit from lower levels, in Navarra (138), Canary Islands (129), Cantabria (78), Estremadura (72) and Baleares (43).
The result is that the Spanish average has risen for the first time since the peak of the third wave was reached on January 27, although it has done it very slightly, in only one digit – from 127 to 128 cases.
