The signal of Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov to the deputy Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov, who is also director of the National Investigation Service, has been referred to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office, said Chief Prosecutor Siika Mileva’s spokeswoman. Her comment was about Rashkov’s signal against the chief prosecutor.
“This is another political attack by the executive branch on the prosecution,” Mileva said. She specified that Assoc. Prof. Rashkov as a lawyer should know that his signal is within the competence of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office or The specialized prosecutor’s office, not the investigation that Sarafov is leading.
The motives in the signal itself were considered in the Supreme Judicial Council on the proposal of the Minister of Justice Yanaki Stoilov, and the members of the council considered that the signal was legally insolvent, Mileva reminded, without going into specifics.
