significant delays on crossings to Marseille

If air links resumed in Algeria in June 2021, it was not until the end of October that sea crossings resumed with Spain initially and then with France from November 1.

The recovery was not smooth for Algérie Ferries, which recorded several incidents on board its vessels.

The presence of trabendists on board crossings, particularly with Spain, has been singled out by numerous testimonies from travellers. Images of the ship Jazair 2 in an unsanitary state circulated widely on social networks.

In addition to its organizational problems, Algérie Ferries has to face competition from foreign shipping companies which have obtained the right to operate the same number of crossings by virtue of reciprocity.

On the niche of connections with Spain as with France, the waiting time is too long according to several testimonies published on Facebook.

Last week, police raided the ship Badji Mokhtar. An attempt to smuggle agri-food products was foiled according to El Bilad TV.

The departure of the crossing Algiers – Marseille from Algeria Ferries which was scheduled for yesterday Monday February 21 has been delayed by 16h.

It would seem that the reinforced controls to fight against the traffic continue.

In a video published in a group of users of Algeria Ferries and Corsica Linea traveler testified about the delay in crossing this Monday, February 28.

“Departure scheduled for 16h Algiers-Marseille. It is now 01h24 the Algerian boat Badji Mokhtar still at the quay”, he writes in his publication.
