Authorities arrest shooter

San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus said the suspected shooter was arrested after seven people were shot to death near the small city south of San Francisco, it reported. NBC News.

The victims were found on the outskirts of Half Moon Bay, a coastal city of approximately 11,000 inhabitants. An eighth victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries to her, Corpus added. The suspected shooter was identified as 67-year-old Zhao Chunli.

Although the exact reason is unknown, all the victims were Chinese farm workers, City Councilwoman Debbie Ruddock told NBC Bay Area.

California adds a second shooting in three days

This tragedy marks the second mass shooting in California in less than a week. On the night of January 21, a mass shooting took place in Monterey Park, near Los Angeles. The incident occurred during the Chinese New Year celebration.
