Masiero had been invited to the ceremony held in virtual mode, to present the costume award. But the one chosen by her, of costume, really left you breathless. “Donkey skin is mythical”, he said motivating his choice, before undressing completely and showing the slogan written on his naked torso: “No culture, no future”. On the back another message, this time addressed directly to the French Prime Minister Jean Castex, “Give us back the art, Jean”. Last December, hundreds of actors, theater directors, musicians, technicians and film critics and many other exponents of the world of French culture protested in Paris and other cities against the government’s closure of cultural sites.

I film premiati ai César – Dupontel’s film, which chronicles a seriously ill woman’s desperate search for her child – has won seven awards, including Best Director. Best foreign film was judged the Danish “Another Round”, directed by Thomas Vinterberg. Sami Bouajila won the Best Actor award for Mehdi Barsaoui’s “A Son”, Laure Calamy won the Best Actor award for Caroline Vignal’s “Antoinette dans les Ce’vennes”.
