The Balochist Liberation Army, which has attacked a number of important targets in Pakistan in recent years, including the Chinese consulate in Karachi in 2018, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attackers threw a grenade at the stock exchange building and started firing at people, killing four guards, a policeman and a passer-by.
All four attackers have also been killed, local police confirmed, adding that modern automatic weapons and explosives were found among the attackers.
