Several areas of Central Java flooded, Ganjar prepares river normalization

Several areas of Central Java have been affected flood due to extreme weather conditions in late 2022 and early 2023. Governor of Central Java (Central Java) Ganjar Pranowo he said a number of regional chiefs in Central Java have proposed normalization of the river.

This was broadcast from Ganjar while observing the evacuation site in the Hall of West Pekalongan District on Tuesday (3/1). PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono immediately responded and inspected Semarang, according to Ganjar.

“Mr. Minister called me, today he inspected Semarang, I communicated for (the need for) portable pumps,” he said.

He said spatial control is the most important. In Pekalongan city itself, according to Ganjar, what has become his concern is the problem of levees and rivers that need to be resolved quickly.

It is known that since early 2023 several areas in Central Java have been affected by floods such as Semarang, Demak, Kudus, Pekalongan, Pati and others.
