Seven new cases of Covid-19 have been reported during the day
Riga, August 8, LETA. In the past 1891 tests of the Covid-19 test, seven people were diagnosed with the disease, according to data compiled by the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).
The information available to the SPKC shows that three patients are the contact persons for Covid-19 patients, one patient has returned from abroad – Estonia, but contacts have been initiated with three persons to clarify additional information. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
To date, 211,937 Covid-19 examinations have been performed in Latvia, 1,288 persons have become ill and 1,070 have recovered, but 32 have died.
Data from the National Health Service show that two patients with Covid-19 have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours. Seven patients with the new coronavirus are currently being treated in hospitals, all of whom have a moderate course of the disease. To date, 193 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital, including both those who have recovered and those who have died.
It has already been reported that this week the infection with Covid-19 was confirmed for 11 students of Murjani Sports Gymnasium and their coach.
