Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – After the takeover of Twitter by entrepreneur Elon Musk, the Chaos Computer Club Freiburg said it had left the US short message service. The club can no longer be reached via this service, the association reported in Freiburg on Monday.
“The CCCFr (Chaos Computer Club Freiburg) has left more than 8,000 short messages for Freiburg and the world since February 2009,” reads a statement. “We had great exchanges with journalists, the state government and many women who have helped shape our society.” Exchanges and discussions were then moved to the ad-free, decentralized Mastodon network. The association promotes education about new technical developments and supports information rights.
