Lucerne and Servette failed to decide on match day 26 of the Super League, with a 2-2 draw. The regrets will be rather Geneva side, since the visitors led 2-0 at rest.
The Servettians had grabbed the meeting the right way. They were happy to open the scoring quickly, then Cespedes deceived the Lucerne defense from the 5th on a service from Cognat. He was driving the point just before the break, benefiting from a long center in Kyei (44th). All the lights were therefore green for Alain Geiger’s men.
But a match consists of two halves. And Lucerne, quite nondescript during the initial 45 minutes, suddenly put a lot more pressure. Fabio Celestini has probably found the right words to tickle his players. The result was immediate.
The Lucerne comeback has a name, that of Francesco Margiotta. The Italian striker scored a double (60th / 65th) that completely revived the affairs of his team. While his first success demonstrated his opportunism, the second was sumptuous in intelligence and technique. And without a Frick very much in her business, Margiotta could have even given all three points to her own.
Servette no longer loses, but neither does she win. The Grenats drew for the fourth consecutive time. Too bad, because with two steps ahead of mid-game, there was room to win.
