In the case of a serious traffic accident on the A 40 in the direction of Essen between the Mülheim Styrum and Mülheim Dümpten exits, the driver was locked in his vehicle at 06:01 this morning. For an unknown reason, the driver lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway. The vehicle swerved into the embankment and crashed into a tree. The driver was seriously injured and trapped in his vehicle. The vehicle had to be opened with hydraulic rescue equipment. The driver was thus freed. He was immediately treated by the rescue service and emergency doctor from the fire brigade and then transported to the university clinic in Essen. (TDr)
