According to the information from the police, the rescue workers were alerted at 1.30 p.m.
“At the intersection of the S4 and Mittelstrasse there was an accident between a truck and a car,” police spokeswoman Dorothea Berndorf confirmed to TAG24.
When turning left in the direction of Doberstau, the 36-year-old truck driver had overlooked the Peugeot coming from the right, which was coming from the direction of Kyhna.

There was a collision. The 55-year-old driver of the Peugeot suffered serious injuries and had to be freed from his vehicle by the fire brigade. He was then taken to a hospital in a rescue helicopter, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The intersection of the S4 was temporarily fully closed to record the accident. Several rescue workers, the fire brigade and an expert from DEKRA were on site. Both vehicles had to be towed away, resulting in property damage of 40,000 euros.
