The Ministry of Health and Social Action took stock of the daily situation of the evolution of Covid-19 in Senegal, this Tuesday, August 18, 2020.
A positivity rate of 7.34 %
Out of 926 tests carried out, Senegal recorded 68 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19), or a positivity rate of 7.34%.
The positive cases are distributed as follows: 41 contact cases followed by the services of the ministry, 2 imported cases and 25 cases resulting from community transmission and distributed between Mbour 3, Bignona 2, Ouakam 2, Bambey 1 Cambérène 1, Colobane 1, Diourbel 1, Hlm5 1, Kédougou 1, Khombole 1, Ziguinchor 1, Kolda 1, Liberté 6 1, Matam 1, Mékhé 1, Mermoz 1, Ouest-foire 1, Patte D’oie 1, Popenguine 1, Yarakh 1, and Zone de catchment 1.
Cured patients
39 hospitalized patients were tested negative and declared cured.
Severe cases
48 serious cases are taken care of in hospital intensive care units.
Death
No death was recorded on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. The state of health of the other patients remains stable.
Cases identified
To date, 12,305 cases have been declared positive, including 7,767 cured, 256 deceased and 4,281 under treatment.
