Senegalese Diaspora Speaks Up Against Growing Tensions in Their Home Country

Far from the country, these Senegalese, part of the ‘Free Senegal’ movement, are also concerned about the tense situation in Senegal.

All denounce this fear in the stomach which has ended up winning over their compatriots who have remained in the country to express their opinion, for fear of being arrested.

The sequestration of which the leader of the opposition, Ousmane Sonko, has been the object for two weeks, in the city of Keur Gorgui, has been rehashed by the demonstrators who have succeeded one another at the central microphone.

“Sonko must participate in the February 2024 elections, Macky Sall disqualified, must speak out clearly”, they underlined in chorus.

So they castigate all Senegalese, especially athletes, displaying their neutrality. “They are all accomplices in this degrading situation in the country”.
