The PGA of America, organizer of the US PGA Championship golf tournament, has chosen Southern Hill Country Club at Tulsa, Oklahoma as the home ground for the US PGA Championship golf tournament. The year 2022 has replaced the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ.

The stadium has completed seven major men’s events and also hosted the first US Women’s Mid-Amalgamation event in 1987, where some of the best professionals have historically made their name. This included four times in the PGA Championship with Tiger Woods who won the title in 2007, Nick Price won in 1994, Raymond Floyd with the championship. In 1982 and Dave Stockton in 1970, including three times in the US Open: 2001 Ratif Gusen, Hubert Green in 1977 and Tommy Bolt in 1958.
Jim Richerson, President of the PGA of America, revealed two weeks ago that “It is clear that the PGA Championship at Trump Bedminster will discredit the PGA of America. And risk the potential of future PGA of America competitiveness in presentations, so our board decided to terminate the contract for the 2022 PGA Championship at the Trump Bed. Minster, whose decision represents a commitment that the PGA of America and the PGA professional organization continues to lead the growth in the world of golf over the centuries.
The stadium also hosted championship tours in 1995 and 1996, where champion owners Billy Mayfair and Tom Lehman were there. It is also a tournament venue for the US Women’s Major in 1946, where Bab Saharias is the champion. Most recently, in 2009, it was a battle for the US Major with Byung-hoon who won the South Korean championship. But it is not clear whether Will the stadium host the 2030 US PGA Championship? Currently, the PGA of America website has not yet been confirmed.
This year’s competition of the US PGA Championship 2021 will be held at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, Ocean Course from May 20-23, before 2022. It will be a competition at the Southern Hills Country Club that will have a competition between 19-22 May next.
