Through the assembly of the play “The Spring Awakening” which was carried out with great success at the facilities of the Cultural centerof the Performing Arts, the company “First Scene” worked to promote experimental theater and actors who will be the new seedbeds of dramatic and musical theater in Mexico, under the representation of the new values of the theatrical scenarios of our country that result convincing and sometimes even masterful in their interpretations, the musical direction of Hugo Robles and the production of Omar García.
The musical “The Awakening of Spring” is a tragedy by Frank Wedekind, a German playwright and journalist (1864-1918) who wrote this play in 1891. “The Awakening of Spring” was Wedekind’s first major theatrical creation, becoming fundamental work in the history of modern theater.
“The Spring Awakening” is a drama with touches of humor, although becoming grotesque. Although the author enjoyed great recognition in his time, this work was also highly criticized and considered scandalous for the treatment it gives to the themes of sexuality, repression, abortion and suicide. Defined by its author as “a childhood tragedy”, it reflects the mode of operation of a modest, puritanical society at the end of the 18th century.
“El Despertar de Primavera” is the Argentine adaptation by Cris Morena Group and RGB entertainment of a musical (rock style) from Broadway (United States).
In the staging of the First Scene company, the leading roles in “El Despertar de Primavera” were carried out by Miguel Ávila as Melchior, Ximena Novo as Wendla and Santiago Morales as Moritz, actors who, like the rest of the cast , are promises of the Mexican theater of the third decade of the XXI century.
The characters in this drama are a group of adolescents between 14 and 15 years of age, who are posing over two acts the desires, interests and typical conflicts of that stage of life. Sexuality, love and death will intersect their lives.

In the case of Miguel Ávila, he has 13 years of experience, working on works by various companies such as “Fetiches” and “Cabaret Psicótico” at the Arcadia Forum in Monterrey under the direction of Fabián Rodríguez; “Qué Plantón” and “Rent” by Foro 33 and “Escaleras al Techo” by Tennessee Williams with the Escenofilia Theater company and the direction of José Luis Hernández.
