Secretly married biathlete Rastorgujev

The new wife reveals to “Privatā Dzīve” magazine: “When Andrej returned home from the World Cup stage in the USA, he told me to buy a wedding dress, so I did. Andrej was very secretive.”

Soon she found out that the two were going to the Maldives.

The new wife says that it was not a traditional wedding – they had no plans and whether the ceremony could take place on the beach depended on the weather.

The Rastorgujev couple got married on March 28 at a picturesque location on the beach and then stayed in the Maldives for a two-week honeymoon.

After the wedding, Nadezhda took her husband’s surname.

As you know, this is the second wedding for both of them. The athlete has a daughter, Nicole, from his previous marriage.

We remind you that on February 18 of this year, Rastorgujev won a silver medal in the 15-kilometer competition with a joint start at the Nove Mesto World Biathlon Championship, winning his biggest success in his career and also in the history of Latvian biathlon.

Until now, only Ilmārs Brici had world championship medals from Latvians – two bronze awards in 2001 in the 20-kilometer individual distance and in 2005 in the ten-kilometer sprint.
