Secret services prepare to reinforce Biden’s security in case of victory

Joe Biden will have his security enhanced by the Secret Services in anticipation of the announcement of his increasingly likely victory and acceptance speech in the state of Delaware.

The news is advanced by The Washington Post, which cites two sources close to the plans, noting that the country’s Secret Services will send reinforcements to Wilmington this Friday as Biden prepares to potentially claim victory.

The Democratic candidate’s campaign warned Secret Services that Biden would continue to use the Wilmington congress center for at least another day, where he could deliver the main victory speech this Friday. Biden could win the US elections already in Pennsylvania, where he gained ground in the last few hours and is almost tied with the Republican.

Although the additional security device does not equate to the total protection of an elected president, the number of agents is close to that. Neither Secret Services nor Biden’s campaign commented on the news from The Washington Post.

The results of the elections are expected to be announced early Friday or during the day, depending on the counting of votes in Pennsylvania and Georgia, followed by closure in the states of Arizona, Nevada and North Carolina.

Right now, Biden is the favorite to get the 270 electoral college votes needed to reach the US presidency.
