Presidential security force or secret service reportedly will send additional agents to protect the Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden.
A report said that extra security was put in place to anticipate the possibility of Biden delivering his victory speech in the election.
A source to The Washington Post said additional security forces would be assigned to Wilmington, Biden’s campaign headquarters.
An additional squad of troops will depart after learning that Biden plans to remain in his hometown of Wilmington, Delware on Friday (6/11) during the vote counting process.
Although not yet officially number one in the US, the additional security forces that will escort Biden will be the equivalent of a level of security for the president.
US Paspampres spokesperson, Catherine Milhoan declined to comment on the news. He stressed not openly discussing security planning for the president or presidential candidates.
Secret service it usually increases the protection of the elected president shortly after he is declared the winner of the election. Historically, security increases against the winner of the presidential election will be increased at midnight after one candidate has won ahead of the delivery speech.
If Biden can achieve 270 electoral votes to secure the presidency, he will deliver a victory speech on Friday.
