PAPUA, KOMPAS.TV – A construction worker named Habel Halenti (30) was shot dead by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Puncak Regency, Papua, on Thursday (3/6/2021).
Puncak Police Chief Kompol I Nyoman Punia said the shooting occurred at 13.00 WIT.
At that time, victim Abel along with two of his colleagues, Muh Alif (17) and Abdul Haras’z (52) departed from the employee camp in the Shower Complex, Kibogolome Village, Ilaga District, to Eronggobak Village, Omukia District.
They drove a pickup belonging to the Puncak Regency Government to transport pigs.
When they were going back to the employee camp, Abel and Muh Alif were pointed at by two members of the KKB with long-barreled and short-barreled firearms. At that time, the victim had screamed for mercy.
“The victim shouted ‘pardon the commander’. But was immediately shot by one of the KKB who pointed the firearm once,” said Kompol Punia through his official statement on Thursday (3/6/2021).
