JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Streaming music service provider Spotify will have a new feature in the form of a virtual assistant. This feature is called ‘Hey Spotify’ which allows users to hear music more easily.
This virtual assistant works when the user says the keyword ‘Hey Spotify’ followed by a singer or song title, then Spotify will play the song according to the user’s wishes.
The appearance of this feature was first reported by GSMArena on Tuesday (6/4/2021). Launch GSMArena, Spotify is known to provide the “Hey Spotify” feature notification to a Samsung Galaxy S21 user.

The user will be asked to activate the “Hey Spotify” feature followed by a request for permission to access the microphone on the user’s cellphone.
The privacy policy for the use of data from Spotify states that it will not record user conversations.
Even though it uses voice, the microphone will only activate when the user says a keyword to activate the “Hey Spotify” feature or presses the voice button in the search box.
