SDG OSPCA welcomes dogs from the United States

By Nicholas Seebruch, Translated by Nicholas Laurin

CORNWALL, Ontario – During the week of November 24, the SD&G Chapter of the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) received 27 dogs from the United States.

“Many shelters in the United States are at or near full capacity, which means they have no more room to help those who show up on their doorstep. The OSPCA and the Humane Society of Ontario have the capacity to help, which is why we got involved in helping these dogs find loving homes, ”said Carol Link of the SD&G SPCA.

Most of the dogs were from the state of North Carolina and many were young and healthy, although there were a few older dogs in the group.

While many dogs have been distributed to the Ontario SPCA branches, at least two remained at the SD&G branch as of Thursday, November 25.

“If you are thinking of welcoming an animal into your home, now is the perfect time to adopt it. The iAdopt for the Holidays adoption campaign presented by Swiffer of the SPCA and the Humane Society of Ontario runs until December 31. Visit iAdopt.ca ”at iadopt.ca for more ways to get involved and help animals. If you have an adopted animal, enter Ontario’s Best Adopted Photo Contest for a chance to win great prizes, or give back to animals by shipping the Ontario SPCA’s Paws & Give online donation store. ”
