The woman found a valuable document, worth four million dollars, and instantly became rich.

In Edinburgh, local resident Katie Marsden was cleaning the attic and found a security that made her rich to the status of a millionaire. Writes about it BBC.

A woman discovered a copy of the 1776 US Declaration of Independence.

Interestingly, Katie Marsden is a specialist in rare books, manuscripts and maps of the auction house Lyon & Turnbull, decided to investigate in detail the history of the found document.

It turned out that the declaration is one of two copies donated in 1824 to a wealthy American and the first US Senator Charles Carroll of Maryland.

It was he who gave copies of the document to John McTavish, who married Carroll’s granddaughter, Emily Caton.

“After detailed research, we have confirmed that this copy is indeed one of 201 issued by William Stone. Only 48 of them are known to remain,” said Katie Marsden.

On the eve of the Independence Day of the United States, on July 1 this year, the declaration was sold to an anonymous buyer for $ 4,420,000 (over UAH 120.4 million).
