“Scammer tried to steal Polish hero money” | Inland

Marcin, who worked as a seasonal worker in the head of North Holland, wanted to save three children more than a week ago who had got into trouble in the sea near Julianadorp because of strong currents. He had to pay for his heroic act with death.

Just before the fatal rescue, he called his wife Monika, who lives in the Polish village of Kazimierz Biskupi. In the middle of the telephone conversation, he ended the connection to intervene on the coast. That was the last thing Monika heard from him.

The fake website via doneeractie.nl has since been taken offline. The page looked almost identical to the other official donation page. “For the family of the Polish hero” was defined as the aim of the action. The text appeared to be copied from the site with the original initiative.

The main organizers have no idea who is behind the fraud, but emphasize that there has been no contact with them and not with family of Marcin, even though the page in question stated that this is the case.

“We are also going to report it. It is important that people know that a scammer is active ”, Hero Brinkman reported on behalf of the initiators, even before the fake page disappeared. Little money had come in. In the morning it was only about 10 euros. “But we wanted to prevent it from becoming more and to warn people emphatically.”

The funeral of Marcin Kolczynski, himself the father of three children and who works for bulb company Th. van Haaster in Callantsoog, is Tuesday. Brinkman is present, as is PVV MP Dion Graus.

The various, bona fide, fundraising campaigns for the relatives have already yielded more than 365,000 euros. According to Martina Janasz, initiator of the main crowdfunding campaign, Kolczynski’s widow Monika is deeply moved by the generous donors from the Netherlands.

The Polish Janasz was concerned about the family’s fate and started a collection campaign through the site gofundme. The promotion exceeded her wildest expectations. “Via my mobile, friends send pictures from the website with the amount that has already been donated. I get a color on my cheeks every time. ”
