Cologne (dpa) – In the German derby of the first play-off round of the Dreamhack Starcraft 2 Masters case in Europe, Gabriel “HeRoMaRinE” Segat prevailed against Tobias “ShoWTimE” Sieber. The Terran player from Mousesports won 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the Upper Bracket.
After ShoWTimE was able to win the first card, HeRoMaRinE added three points in a row and thus underpinned its status as the best German Starcraft professional.
The favorites also prevailed in the other quarter-finals of the Upper Bracket: World Champion Riccardo “Reynor” Romiti won 3-2 against Russian Ivan “Vanya” Chepurnov. Joona “Serral” Sotala defeated newcomer Max “Maxpax” C., whose full surname is not known, 3-1 after a perfect group stage.
Opponent for HeRoMaRinE in the semi-finals of the Upper Bracket will be Frenchman Alexis “MarineLorD” Eusebio, who defeated his compatriot Clément “Clem” Desplanches 3-2 in a tight game. ShoWTimE falls into the lower bracket, which requires the player from Team BIG to play more games on the way to the final.
