The doctor with the initials MA (29) is a suspect in the case workshop fire as well as a house in Tangerang City, Banten, which resulted in 3 deaths. The police have now detained MA.
“He has been detained,” said Head of the Tangerang City Police Public Relations Subdivision, Kompol Abdul Rachim, to reporters, Wednesday (11/8/2021).
Abdul explained that the Supreme Court was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning Premeditated Murder. MA faces up to 20 years in prison and up to the death penalty.
“Article 340 of the Criminal Code carries a sentence of 20 years up to the death penalty,” he added.
Previously, the police revealed MA’s motive for burning a motorcycle repair shop owned by Lionardi’s parents (34), who is his girlfriend, at Malabar Market, Tangerang. MA deliberately set fire to the workshop because there was a romantic motive.
“This was done because the perpetrator was pregnant and the victim’s parents did not agree that their child was married to the perpetrator,” said Head of Public Relations of the Tangerang City Police Commissioner Abdul Rochim when contacted, Tuesday (10/8).
During a search, the police found 5 plastic bags of gasoline in MA’s car. To the police, MA admitted that he only threw 2 packs of gasoline into the garage.
Apart from gasoline, the police found a number of other pieces of evidence. The evidence includes two pregnancy test kits.
“Two instant pregnancy test kits,” said Rochim.
