How reported press service of the SBU, as a result of a multi-stage special operation, a sabotage and reconnaissance group was neutralized (DRG) of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU).

The SBU said that on his «offer,” a resident of Kyiv answered: for 5,000 US dollars, he agreed to kill a Ukrainian military man who, according to the occupiers, was allegedly involved in the physical massacre of Russian prisoners of war.
According to the department, this murder was supposed to be «test test “before performing the main tasks of the enemy, and to assassinate the heads of defense departments «liaison” decided to personally arrive on the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.
«Here, together with an accomplice, they had to prepare a “liquidation” plan and submit it for approval to their leaders in Russia,” the SBU said.
The attacker masked the routes of movement, therefore he drove into Ukraine through the territory of Belarus.
SBU officers documented his arrival in the Volyn region through the Domanovo checkpoint and meeting with an accomplice.
In order to avoid committing particularly serious crimes, SBU counterintelligence officers with the involvement of CSO fighters “ A” detained both malefactors in Kovel.
During the search, evidence of criminal acts, as well as a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, were found at the “connected person”.
Both detainees were informed of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law and premeditated murder. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being resolved.
And about. Head of the SBU Vasily Malyuk said that the enemy cannot win on the battlefield, so he resorts to his usual methods – he tries to organize assassination attempts on the military and heads of Ukrainian authorities.

Activities to expose crimes were carried out by employees of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, together with the SBU units of the Volyn region, the National Police and under the procedural leadership of the Pechersk district prosecutor’s office in Kyiv.
