Saul Niguez ready to fight at Chelsea and wants to get out of “comfort zone” – Marseille News

Saul Niguez is hoping to take his game to a new level as he promises to step out of his “comfort zone” at his new club Chelsea.

The 26-year-old sealed a move to Stamford Bridge just before the transfer deadline last week and the Blues have the option to make the deal permanent for £ 30million at the end of the season.

Saul could make his Chelsea debut this weekend

Saul is set to make his club debut against Aston Villa this weekend – as a starting or off the bench – and he hopes he will have an immediate impact as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.

“The three midfielders who are playing are at a high level. It won’t be easy to play, but if I think about it and fight it I can get it, ”Saul told Spanish internet celebrity Ibai Llanos in a conversation on Twitch.

“Chelsea promised to train me at my post [midfield], but to play we will see. Going back to certain roles that I’m not currently playing is the most important reason for my decision.

“This transfer is for me a step outside my comfort zone. I believe you will see a new Saul in a new one [better] place.”

Tuchel has promised Saul playing time in his favorite central midfielder position

Marcos Alonso, a compatriot of Saul, backed his new teammate to settle quickly at Stamford Bridge after his late move.

He said: “I know Saul from the national team, and we also shared a manager from when we were at Real Madrid academy.

“He’s a great player. His conditions are going to be good for the Premier League. He’s strong physically, he’s very good in the air, and those are things that you need when you’re in this league.

“He’s ready to kick off and I hope we can take advantage of his qualities and he will be of great help to the team, because it will be a long year, with a lot of competition.”
