Doha ∙ Vice-President of the Qatar Football Federation (QFA) and Vice-President of the West Asian Football Confederation Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Muhannadi (66) has passed away.
He was ill and under treatment. Qatar Olympic Committee President Sheikh Joan bin Hamad Al Thani announced the death on Twitter. Al Muhannadi is a person who has played an important role in the growth of the sports sector of Qatar. He is also the Vice-President of the Arab Football Federation Union and was previously elected to the FIFA Council.
He also served as chairman of the Gulf Cup Committee, prior to the formation of the Gulf Football Association. The Qatar Football Association, the Qatar Olympic Committee, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the Qatar Stars League, various sports federations and Qatari clubs have expressed their condolences on the death of Al Muhannadi, who has done an invaluable service to the industry Qatari sportsman.
