Lances del Futuro SL, awarded the lease of the Plaza de Toros for the celebration of the Santiago Fair 2021, has requested the suspension of the lease due to unforeseen cause, as it is impossible to comply as a consequence of the capacity limitations imposed by the health authority.
This has been confirmed by municipal sources, who have indicated that the Board of Directors of the Sociedad Plaza de Toros de Santander SA, at its meeting on June 4, accepted the postponement of the effects of the contract to the year 2022.
In this way, whether there is a bullfighting celebration in the Coso de Cuatro Caminos will depend on the sanitary restrictions of the moment, as the mayor, Gema Igual, has indicated on several occasions. The consistory insists that this suspension does not mean that there will not be no type of bullfighting celebration.
According to the Covid traffic light in Cantabria, the allowed capacity in bullfighting events is 75% at level 1 and 2.
